NEXT LEVEL AFRICA COIN AND CEX Q & A
DOWNLOADING THE C-WALLET
Q: Chrome is blocking the download. What should I do?
A: To allow websites to perform simultaneous downloads on Google Chrome, follow the
below procedure:
• Open Google Chrome and click > Settings.
• Click on > Show advanced settings.
• Go to "Privacy" > "Content Settings".
• Scroll all the way down to "Automatic Downloads" section, select "Allow all sites to
download multiple files automatically".
• Click on Done.
After you are finished downloading your E-wallet, you can go back to your Chrome
settings and unclick the "Allow all sites to download multiple files automatically".
SAFETY & SECURITY REGARDING C-WALLET
Q Why is it more secure to have the C-wallet on my own hard drive than on the web, like Paypal?
A: A wallet on the web is always vulnerable to hackers. The C-wallet is not on the web
so the only way anyone else can access your wallet is by using your computer and
logging in using your passphrase.
Q: Do I need to encrypt my C-Wallet?
A: Yes, it is recommended for extra security. Look under the Settings tab at the top.
Choose 'Encrypt Wallet'.
Q: Do I need to set a passphrase?
A: A passphrase is NOT mandatory but it is a very important level of security you can
add to your C-wallet. Without a passphrase, your C-Wallet will not be encrypted.
(coded for security)
No one can withdraw coins without the passphrase once it is set. Therefore it
IS recommended. The KEY here is "once it is set" -- if it is not set, anyone can withdraw.
If you set a passphrase make sure you have a hard copy and the passphrase
saved somewhere on your computer or a flashdrive.
DO NOT LOSE THIS PASSPHRASE or you will not have any access to your wallet and will
LOSE ANY COINS you have in there.
Q: I read that if I lose or forget my passphrase I will not have any way to access my c-wallet
and will lose any coins in there. Why is this?
A: Because the c-wallet is not online, (it is installed on your hard drive) the only way
someone can hack into your c-wallet is by going onto your computer.
The passphrase is not mandatory but if someone DID use your computer they would
also need to know your passphrase to access your account.
However, if you do lose or forget your passphrase there is no one else anywhere who
has it so the c-wallet can not be opened.
NLA does NOT have your passphrase (more security) so it is up to each individual
member to keep track. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!
If you have coins in your C-wallet and you can’t access it - those coins are lost.
NLA DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE PASSPHRASE MEMBERS ADD TO THEIR C-WALLET.
Q: What is the best way to ensure I never lose or forget my passphrase?
A: Have a pen and paper ready BEFORE you set the passphrase. Write it down
somewhere that you will not lose it.
AFTER YOU HAVE ENCRYPTED AND SET THE PASSPHRASE - CLOSE THE WALLET
AND TEST IT TO MAKE SURE THE PASSPHRASE YOU TYPED IS THE THE SAME AS
WHAT YOU WROTE DOWN - don’t wait until there is money in the c-wallet, or you
could lose it.
Some people keep a small password book by their computer, some keep a sheet of
paper in a drawer with all passwords, etc.
Many people have a password spreadsheet made up that they keep on a flashdrive
that is easy to access.
Email the passphrase to yourself, or keep it on a word file on a flash drive. This is
so important that we suggest doing 2 or more of the above. Whatever way you decide
on, it is vital that you have a way to find your passphrase - or you could lose money if
you can not open your own c-wallet.
Q: Is it necessary to make back-ups of the C-wallet?
A: YES - like any important information stored on your computer is is necessary to make
regular back ups.
In the unlikely event of a computer crash or someone stealing your computer, you will
lose everything if you do not have a recent backup (this includes losing any coins you
have in your c-wallet) .
People have many different methods of backing up their information but a flash drive
or emailing the back-up wallet file to yourself is generally the simplest for keeping the
wallet data safe.
Q: How do I set the passphrase?
A: Choose a word or phrase with 3 or more random characters. (A space is considered
a character) When you set a passphrase be sure to click OK - WRITE IT DOWN FIRST
Now - REBOOT FOR EVERYTHING TO TAKE EFFECT.
MISC Q & A
Q: Where do I find my C-Wallet address?
A: Click on 'Receive Coins' and you'll see it on the top right.
Q: I can’t see the STATISTICS button in my C-Wallet menu?
A: You will need to maximize to full screen to see all the buttons OR click the brown bar at
the bottom of the c-wallet menu.
Q: Can we mine coins with our PC?
A: It is important to realize WE DO NOT MINE NLA coins, like bitcoin mines new coins.
With NLA coins we do something called Staking. This is different than mining, so
please let us all refrain from comparing what we do to MINING.
We are preparing videos to explain this concept, as it is new.
Also, when your c-wallet is open and unlocked on your computer, you will be earning on
your coins through the staking process. When you log off, you don’t earn.
If there are no coins in your c-wallet it is best to leave the wallet closed as it could
cause error messages to appear.
Q: When you click 'unlock wallet' (in settings) , a pop up window appears to enter
passphrase and there is a checkbox for 'staking only'. Should it always be checked/ticked
or not?
A: Yes, it will default to being checked, leave it checked.
Q: Under “settings” then “options” there is a box to tick to start the
Next Level Africa c-wallet on startup, is this a good thing to have checked?
A: Yes. If you check it to open upon startup, the c-wallet will run which does a few things…
It helps with the syncing process and the staking process.
It’s the staking process that helps all of the coins in everyone’s c-wallets earn.
The open c-wallet does not harm your computer.
EXCEPTION - If you do not have coins in your c-wallet, do not leave it open as this can
cause error messages to appear
Q: I manage multiple accounts (husbands, kids, friends) etc, do we need a separate c-wallet
per family member or can we use the same one for all?
A: You only can download ONE c-wallet on your computer - it can contain c-wallet
addresses for all of the multiple accounts you manage.
Q: Where would I find the settings to choose the backup option?
A: At the top of your c-wallet there is a menu tab, Files,
Click on that and choose Backup... a window will pop-up and you will choose WHERE to
back your c-wallet to.
This is where you can choose either to back up to your hard drive OR to your flash drive.
Or to both.
Q: How can I move the c-wallet from one computer to another?
A: There are 2 scenarios that can happen here.
1. If you are going to move the c-wallet from one computer to another, because you are
selling your computer and getting a new one, you will uninstall your current NLA c-wallet
then re-install on the second computer. Your account will stay intact and you will
be able to login once reinstalled. Please do a backup of your wallet before uninstalling
from the first computer.
We have detailed instructions on how to do this, or NLA support can help with that.
2. If you want to have access to your c-wallet from multiple computers, this is not possible
at the present time.
Q: Will we be able to have more than one c-wallet on the same computer?
A: No, only one c-wallet on each computer.
Q: If 2 family members each have their own computers can they each have their own
individual C-Wallet downloaded to their own device?
A: Yes, and they will be totally separate and not linked in any way.
